Branded caps in Zimbabwe are one of the most practical things a school, sports club or company can put its logo on. They get worn at sports days, on site, at events and on weekends, so the logo keeps working long after the order is delivered. The catch is that “a cap” covers a wide range of styles, fabrics and price points, and the wrong choice is easy to make from a catalogue picture. This guide walks through the decisions that matter so you can order once and get it right.
Start with who will wear the cap and where
Before you look at a single style, answer three questions. Who is wearing it: pupils, players, staff or the public at a giveaway? How often: every day on a farm or building site, every Saturday on the field, or once at a launch? And what is the budget per head? A cap handed out to a few hundred people at a promotion has a different job from a cap a security team will wear in the sun every day for a year. Our headwear range is grouped into budget, everyday and premium collections for exactly this reason.
5-panel or 6-panel branded caps in Zimbabwe?
The panel count is the number of fabric pieces that make up the crown. A 5-panel cap has a single flat panel across the front, which gives a clean, uninterrupted space for a logo. A 6-panel cap has a seam running down the centre front, so the logo sits across two panels. Embroidery handles that seam without any trouble, but if your logo is wide and detailed, a 5-panel front shows it off more cleanly.
In our caps category the range runs from budget 5-panel polyester twill, which is the usual choice for giveaways, through heavier cotton twill 6-panel caps for everyday staff and school use, up to premium structured styles. Examples you can look at on the site include the Super 5 Panel Cotton Cap and the 6 Panel Promo Cap.
Structured or unstructured
A structured cap has a stiffened front that holds its shape when it is off the head, which gives a sharper, more corporate look and keeps the logo flat. An unstructured cap is softer, packs down easily and feels more casual. Corporate teams and front-of-house staff tend to prefer structured; sports clubs and schools often go unstructured for comfort. Neither is better, it depends on the look you want.
Fabric and finish
Polyester twill is light and keeps the price down. Cotton twill is heavier, feels better in the hand and takes embroidery well. For caps that will be worn outdoors day after day, look at fade-resistant options such as the Value Fade Resistant Cap, which is also available in kids sizes. Contrast-peak and two-tone options let you match school or company colours more closely than a single-colour cap can.
When a hat is the better choice
A peaked cap shades the face but not the ears and neck. For junior school sports days, farm and outdoor teams, and anyone spending whole days in the sun, a bucket hat or wide-brim hat does the job better. Our hats category covers bucket hats in adult and kiddies sizes, bush and safari wide-brim hats, and floppy hats, all with the same one pocket-size logo included. Cricket teams can also order fully custom cricket hats made in your team colours.
For winter, swap to beanies. They work for school winter uniforms, sports clubs and security teams, and they are a corporate winter gift that actually gets worn.
Caps for workwear and safety
If the caps are for a workforce rather than a campaign, there are two things to check. First, whether you need high-visibility or reflective trim; the Safety Reflective Cap is one option in the range. Second, whether a bump cap is required on site, which is a cap with a protective inner shell for low-risk head knocks. Both can still carry your logo.
How branding on caps works at Lite Active
Every cap and hat in our headwear range includes one pocket-size logo, embroidered in our Harare workshop. Embroidery is the standard for headwear because it is durable, washes well and looks good on both twill and cotton. If you want a larger design or branding in more than one position, ask for that in your enquiry and we will quote it with the order.
Each product page shows live supplier stock per colour and a per-item price excluding VAT, with quantity pricing for larger orders. Type the quantity you need per colour, add it to your quote, and download a PDF quotation from the cart. VAT is added at 15.5% on the quote. The step-by-step ordering guide explains what happens after that, from artwork approval to collection or delivery.
A quick checklist before you order
- Decide on cap, bucket hat, wide-brim hat or beanie based on where it will be worn.
- Pick 5-panel for a wide logo, 6-panel for a classic look.
- Choose structured for a corporate finish, unstructured for comfort.
- Check colour availability on the product page before you fix your design.
- Have your logo ready as a vector file (AI, PDF or EPS) for clean embroidery.
- Count kids sizes separately if you are ordering for a school.
Frequently asked questions

Can I order caps in kids sizes for a school?
